This project involved designing a visually compelling book cover for The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. The goal was to capture the novel’s introspective and otherworldly tone, blending elements of illustration with typographic layout. The design concept uses a dreamlike palette of midnight blues and ethereal highlights combined with symbolic imagery of green books, dominos, the piano, never ending choices, etc. All that reflects the story’s themes of regret, choice, and parallel lives. Typography played a key role in reinforcing the mood—elegant, serif fonts were paired with an illustrative graphic to evoke a sense of timelessness and quiet wonder. The final cover balances mystery with warmth, drawing readers into the infinite possibilities that lie between life and death, and inviting them to explore the vast library within.
